News 1. Sexual Assault Awareness Campaign

 

Minority Outreach solutions has taken an active role in raising awarenes against all forms of violence in community. April is Nationaly recognized as Domestic Violence Against Women Awareness Month. Minority Outreach Solutions worked in Partnership with the Leon County Sheriff's Office,The Florida Council Against Sexual Violence, I Heard Your Cry Foundation, The Tamar Foundation, Los Amigos Restauraunt, The City of Tallahassee, and The Leon County Commission to issue proclamations recognizing April 24th as Sexual Violence Against Women Awareness Day in both Leon County Florida, and The City of Tallahassee.  This proclamations was celebrated with a community wide event sponsored by Hotel Duval Tallahassee and Olive Garden restaurant.

News 2. Lisa Sprague Campaign For Sheriff 2012

 

Minority Outreach Solutions worked diligently during the 2012 Election Cycle on several campaigns. One of those campaigns was for Ms. Lisa Sprague, former Deputy Chief of Police at Florida State University. Among the challenges and responsibilities of running a campaign against  a Veteran Sherrif of over 30 years was attempting to bridge the gap between traditional voters and new voters. The Yahoo BHRP (Business Human Rights Program) hosted CHANGE YOUR WORLD DC 2012 at The Newseum in Washington, DC.  Lisa Sprague was recognized for her use of new media, technology, and the internet to create positive change in the world.

News 3. Faith Leader's Event - FL. Capitol

 

Members of The Minority Outreach Solutions Team in conjunction with the leadership of Minister Jabari Paul, were instrumental in organizing The Community Faith Leaders Lobby Day at The Florida Capitol during the Legislative Session.  Faith leaders from around The State of Florida convened at  The Florida Capitol for a Prayer Breakfast, Prayer Vigil, and group discussion of  legislation disproportionately effecting faith based communities. The interfaith group of religious leaders from a variety of denominations and disciplines enjoyed breakfast with the legislators in attendance, and enjoyed the afternoon with Legislative Office visits to stress the moral imperative of their suggested positions on several issues. The event was non-partisan and comprised entirely of the faith based community to include clergy, lay leaders, and membership.
